I'm really enjoying following your adventures, Lisa. New Mexico is a favorite for my husband and I and your travels bring back wonderful memories. Leaves me wanting to return soon! The beauty of it all inspires us to take out our sketchbook and colors too. Happy travels!

Yes please on the colors! I love your photos and stories of New Mexico. I grew up in Santa Fe, so you are bringing back memories of places I explored when I was a kid.

Hi Lisa, yes please post the colors you used in the class ... I love what you shared so far from this amazing place! If by any chance you have time to drive near Abiquiu Lake and across the dam, the road toward the Youngsville area will bring you much closer to the Pedernal and give a whole different perspective of this unique landmark. We stayed several times in a VRBO house in this area and loved being so close to the Pedernal, it felt like I could reach out and touch it in the morning light. Also, we realy enjoyed the view across the lake toward Ghost Ranch and all the colors Georgia O'Keeffe loved so much. Happy, safe travels!!! Suzy

Hi Suzy! Thanks so much for the tips! We're checking out the area around Youngsville -- looks like there's some dispersed camping! I just love the colors here -- can't get enough! Will post them soon!

Oh my I am jealous! Great photos. And yes I would love to know the palette you were using. Just thinking of what I would include in a fall palette for here in Minnesota. I am taking a fall leaves class. Trying to paint the changing of seasons here.

Ohhhh a fall leaves class sounds amazing! I always have to have azo yellow and quinacridone coral on my fall palette to mix a good orange! Other fall favorites are perylene red, piemontite genuine, bloodstone genuine, and transparent red oxide! Happy painting -- I bet fall in Minnesota is glorious!

So glad you could take a class at Ghost Ranch! I was there in 2018 and would love to return. Such lovely views! We did not camp at the ranch, though. Stayed at an rv park in Santa Fe. (We are van owners as well!)
