I am loving New Mexico! I had no idea that there are so many lush and verdant areas. Suddenly, i am finding so many artists whose beautiful work is done in NM … seems like a sort of mecca for watercolourists. How exciting for you to have been chosen for another AIR opportunity. Just wish i could attend your workshops, but ME to NM is a bridge too far. I do have a question about your Sean Hudson palette (thank you for sharing those glorious colours!) : WN doesn't have a watercolour called "Quin Rose." Did you use WN Permanent Rose (PV19)? Or WN Quin Magenta (PR122)? Or WN Opera Rose (PR122)? Or something else entirely? Thank you, Lisa, and happy trails.

Hi Karen! Thanks for asking! It *is* Permanent Rose (PV19) in this particular palette -- I'll update the post! I've been slowly switching over to WN Quin Magenta (PR122) as I find it has a better range tho. Hopefully one of these days I can have an online workshop!

Thank you for clarifying re "rose." I remember reading that you were shifting your basic red to WN PR122 Quin Magenta, since your original paint choice wasn't behaving as you had come to expect. And if you do decide to try an online workshop, i'll definitely be there (if i can be among the first to see you post it, since i'm sure your spaces will be gone in a heartbeat). Thanks so much for always taking the time out of your day(s) to answer the absurd number of questions i ask. Trek on!

Hi Jane! Yay glad you like the tarantula! I think they're so cool but I know so many people who hate spiders of all kinds!!

Happy fall foliage to you. Eve and I lucked out two years ago in mid-October when we spent a few days in Santa Fe and found the aspens in the region were at their peak color.

Lisa, your sketch of Capulin Volcano is stunning. You've captured the feeling of it, rather than trying to stay true to local color. Husband and I visited several years ago, and it was shrouded in fog. Thank you for a more dynamic sketch!! And, congratulations on your residency. Whoever takes your workshops - lucky them!!!
