Great letter. I was at wild wonder the whole time too hard to pick the best demo but I do love the colorful ones but also the science ones like the textures of banana slugs etc. I’ve watched since 2020 too. Also teach it when I live in a place I can. Hope you fell better soon. Take care
So sorry you are feeling under the weather-it sounds like the symptoms we had with Covid when we had to unfortunately cancel our participating in your Valles Caldera workshop.
Recovery takes a while (up and down), but you will recover. We are so enjoying your great photos and we remember our previous trip to Santa Fe during the glorious fall season. I love all the colors of fall and we are beginning to see them here in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada too! ‘Wishing you a speedy recovery!
Thanks so much for the well wishes, Edith! Yeah, this is no fun at all. Good to know about the ups and downs -- glad I'm not the only one! Fall is one of my favorite times of year too!
Such lovely photos. Takes me back to our autumn trip to New Mexico!
Now, for a painting question--did you use gouache for the highlights in the grasses on the Jemez River? Trying to achieve something similar, but maybe I've watered it down too much!
Hi Lisa! I used Dr. Ph Martin’s bleed proof white — and then I painted over it. It’s kind of like gouache but comes in a jar and it’s easier for me to work with.
Oh I missed the conference! Darn it! I will see if I can watch parts when it comes out in October. I thought Amy Tan was going to do a session on birds. Not that you have room for books but her new book The Backyard Bird Chronicles is fun to go through. You should check it out when you are near a book store or library
Love everything you’re sharing Lisa, since I’ll be retired soon I hope to be able to share the conference, too! Thank you for telling more and showing pictures!
Hope you’re feeling much better soon!
Sending best wishes for the two of you from Berlin, Germany Angie 🤗
I, too, watched about half of the Wild Wonder presentations live & will continue with the recordings. I especially enjoyed some presentations by artists with whom I wasn't familiar, including Sofia Gazarian (Fast Watercolor Birds) & Anastasiia Morozova (Travel Sketching). It was my 5th Wild Wonder & I always enjoy the diversity of artistic styles and approaches!

Thanks, Suzanne! It is super hard to pick the best ones -- they're all good! Can't wait to do some more. We're WW twins!
